This seminar - delivered over 8 weeks, for one day a week - introduces the concepts of Palliative Care Nursing and explores approaches to one on one caring. A Nursing qualification is recommended.

This seminar - delivered over 5 weeks, for one day a week - explores the bond which can form between patient and carer and considers the issues which can beset both the cared for and the carer.

Special skills and insights are needed when considering the long term care of the young. Our seminar considers mental well being, child safety, promoting interests, education and a positive mind.
If your patients are long term bed ridden then boredom may develop a low mind set. 'Beyond the call' explores ways to 'add a spark' and to coax outward looking interest and a positive mind set. We consider ideas such as expression through art and music, game playing, a patient's self education and how to help them.
Most individuals have the ability to provide a level of care but deliverying good Palliative Care requires highly developed personal skills, such as: communication, emphathy, ability to appear focused and unstressed, listening, and counselling. 'Personal Skills' is a broad introduction into how these skills can benefit a patient.
